After 21 years together, my high school sweetheart and I decided to tie the knot. We chose to celebrate in the town where we met and fell in love, collaborated with local vendors and artisans, and incorporated elements from our travels and cherished memories over the last two decades.
Having planned my sister’s wedding and various events for friends and family, I knew early on that I wanted to plan our special day. In true “Kelsey” fashion, I chose a venue that had never hosted a wedding before and was logistically complex. I loved the idea of forging uncharted territory and crafting a completely original production.
My background in entertainment, pursuit of unique experiences, and passion for community have shaped my approach. I build events in layers, starting with your story, and focusing on the “why” of every choice. For my own wedding, this yielded a gathering that was aesthetically beautiful, yet restrained, and operationally on point, yet fluid. Atmospherically, there is no word in English to properly capture it, so I turn to my mother’s native Dutch – it was truly gezellig. Sweet. Cozy. Generous. Full of character and joy. Laughter, tears, and dancing feet. Wool coats over silk gowns. Champagne and homemade baked goods.
